On August 30 at 9:10 PM, officers responded to the 8300 block of Barret Dr. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed while at the playground in the above area, the victim, a 23-year-old woman, and her 3-year-old son were with an acquaintance, identified as the accused when the accused took the victim’s property during a verbal altercation. The accused then took the boy without permission and began to walk away. The victim attempted multiple times to get her child from the accused and each time she was physically prevented by the accused. During the attempts, the accused burned the victim with a cigarette, sprayed her with pepper spray, and grabbed her by the neck before the victim separated from the accused and contacted the police. While responding, officers were informed a family member of the victim located the accused and the boy at the playground and took custody of the boy. The accused fled prior to police arriving at the playground. The victim reported minor injuries. The boy was unharmed and turned over to his mother. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Abraham CINTO Jr. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.
