On May 6 at 9:20PM, officers responded to the Prince William Ice Center located at 5180 Dale Blvd. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 13-year-old male juvenile, was inside the center when he was approached by a group of teenagers. After a brief exchange, the victim proceeded to the parking lot to wait for his ride. Once outside the complex, the victim was once again approached by the group. At that point, the victim began walking away when three males from the group followed him. The victim began to run, at which point, the suspects tackled and assaulted him. During the encounter, the assailants forcibly held the victim down while they went through his pockets. One of the suspects displayed a knife while demanding the victim’s property. The victim was eventually able to break free from the suspects and run away. Minor injuries were reported, and no property was taken. Responding officers located a group of juveniles in the area. The group was determined to be the initial juveniles who approached the victim, not the assailants. Officers were able to identify two of the assailants as 14-year old male juveniles. Following the investigation, officers charged the two identified suspects in connection with the incident. The investigation continues as officers attempt to identify the remaining suspect.
