On August 5 at 12:57 AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1500 block of Margaret St. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic. Upon arriving at the residence, officers heard yelling coming from inside the home and attempted to make contact with the occupants. Eventually, officers made contact with a male occupant, later identified as the accused, who was armed with a knife and refusing to leave the home. While speaking with officers, a 59-year-old woman, later determined to be the victim, was able to leave the home undetected by the accused. A short time later, officers detained the accused without incident. The investigation revealed the accused and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation. The victim separated from the accused and called the police. While the victim was on the phone with emergency services, the accused forcibly entered the room where the victim was and struck her multiple times. The accused then took the victim’s phone and prevented her from leaving the room. At one point, the accused left the room to retrieve a knife before threatening to harm himself. During the encounter with the police, the victim was able to exit the home without incident. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Ethan Albert BENSUSAN, was arrested.
