On July 17 at 11:45 AM, officers were flagged down in the parking lot of Jiffy Lube Live, located at 7800 Cellar Door Dr. in Bristow (20136), to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed the victim, a 31-year-old man, was in the parking lot talking to an unknown group of people when a verbal altercation ensued. The encounter escalated when a man from the group struck the victim several times before bystanders intervened and separated the parties. The assailant and other members of the group got into a grey truck and fled the area. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
