On March 30 at 9:29PM, officers responded to the area of Kirby Rd. and Sassafras Tree Ct. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 28-year-old man, reported to police that he was walking in the above area when he was approached by two unknown men. During the encounter, one of the suspects grabbed the victim’s arm and demanded his property while the other suspect brandished a firearm. As the suspects attempted to run from the victim, he gave chase and a brief struggle ensued over his property. The suspects maintained control of the victim’s property and fled the area. The victim walked to a nearby residence and contacted the police. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located. The victim reported minor injuries. A wallet, a video game controller, a backpack and personal paperwork were reported missing.
