On August 21 at 8:09 AM, while patrolling in the 13900 block of Richmond Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191), officers observed an individual standing outside of a local business who matched the description of a man with active arrest warrants. Officers made contact with the man, identified as the accused, and determined he was the wanted individual. When officers attempted to take the accused into custody, he refused to follow the officer’s commands and attempted to flee. During a brief struggle, the accused struck an officer before being taken into custody without further incident. No injuries were reported. While searching the accused, he was found in possession of suspected illegal narcotics. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Edgar Ernesto OLIVARES TURCIOS, was arrested.
