On September 26 at 6:30 PM, officers responded to the intersection of Sudley Rd. and Irongate Way in Manassas (20109) to investigate the vandalism. The investigation revealed an unknown man, later identified as the accused, approached and then struck a vehicle multiple times while it was stopped at the above intersection. When the driver, a 44-year-old man, confronted the accused outside of the vehicle, the accused threw a box, striking the victim. Eventually, the accused fled the area, and the police were contacted. While investigating the incident, a man matching the description provided to police was observed walking on the opposite side of the street. Officers made contact with the man, later identified as the accused, and determined he was intoxicated before being taken into custody. While being processed at the Prince William-Manassas Adult Detention Center, the accused threatened the officers before kicking one of the officers. The accused was resecured without further incident. The officer reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Gerson David CASTILLO-LOAYES, was arrested.
