On September 11 at 8:30 PM, officers responded to the intersection of Dumfries Rd. and Godwin Dr. in Manassas (20112) to investigate a single-vehicle crash. Upon arriving at the location, officers observed a man, later identified as the accused, in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Officers determined the accused was intoxicated and took him into custody. While the accused was in a police vehicle, he began to actively resist and attempted to damage the vehicle. Officers removed the accused and attempted to resecure him. At one point, the accused refused to follow the officer’s commands and continued to actively resist. During the encounter, the accused spat on the officers multiple times and threatened to harm them. After a brief struggle, the accused was resecured without further incident. No injuries were reported by the officers. Following the investigation and his release from the hospital, the accused, identified as, Michael Wayne LEWIS II, was arrested.
