On August 25 at 7:21 PM, officers were at UVA Haymarket Medical Center located at 15195 Heathcote Blvd. in Haymarket (20169) with an individual who became combative. The individual, identified as the accused, was in police custody at the facility for an evaluation when he began being verbally and physically abusive towards staff. When officers attempted to restrain the accused, he spat at them, striking an officer twice in the face. The accused continued to be defiant, kicking the same officer and attempting to reach for the officer’s duty weapon. The accused was eventually restrained without further incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Kevin Lindo CADELINA, was charged and released on a summons while remaining hospitalized.
