On July 31 at 8:20 PM, officers responded to the 10200 block of Farragut Ct. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 27-year-old woman, was walking in a nearby courtyard area, when she was approached by an unknown man, later identified as the accused. During the encounter, the accused brandished a knife and demanded the victim’s property. The victim refused to give the accused her property and ran from the area. The accused followed the victim and was confronted by a group of bystanders before fleeing the area on foot. No injuries were reported, and no property was taken. A police K-9 searched for the suspect who was not located. While investigating the incident, officers identified the accused as Manuel GONZALEZ and obtained warrants for his arrest. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.
