On April 4 at 1:29 PM, officers responded to investigate an attempted robbery that was reported to have occurred in the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Cl. in Woodbridge (22192) at approximately 11:20 PM on April 3. The victim, a 50-year-old man, reported to police that he was parked in the parking lot of the above location when a red vehicle pulled up behind his vehicle which prevented him from driving away. At one point, two masked occupants of the vehicle approached the victim’s vehicle and attempted to open the driver’s door. The victim stayed inside the vehicle and refused to open the door. During the encounter, one of the occupants retrieved a firearm and demanded property from the victim. The victim refused and the suspects eventually left the parking lot. At no time during the encounter was any physical contact made between the victim and the suspects. No property was reported missing. The two male suspects and the driver of the vehicle were described as being between 18–20 years of age with thin builds, and approximately 5’6”.
