On April 8 at 3:50 AM, an officer responded to Lyon Automotive located at 17276 Dumfries Rd. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a burglary in progress. Upon arriving at the business, officers were informed by the owner that video surveillance revealed an unknown man, later identified as the accused, in the rear fenced in parking area. Officers responded to the rear area where they located the accused and took him into custody without incident. The investigation revealed that the accused attempted to gain entry into the building with a crowbar. The accused was then observed on video surveillance looking into vehicles before fleeing towards the rear of the property where he encountered officers. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Gregory Gene GARCIA, was arrested.
