On August 14 at 1:07 AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4100 block of Glendale Rd. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a fight with weapons. Upon arriving at the residence, officers were informed that the suspect left in a vehicle. The investigation revealed the caller and an unknown man, later identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused physically struck his own vehicle before driving out of the area. As the accused was driving away, he struck an unoccupied parked vehicle and continued out of the area. Officers checking the area observed the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop in the area of Glendale Rd. and Greenwood Dr. The driver slowed but did not stop the vehicle and continued to drive on Glendale Rd. towards the above location. Additional officers at the location attempted to assist in stopping the vehicle and entered the roadway. When the driver observed the officers in the roadway, he accelerated his vehicle and drove toward the officers who were able to avoid being struck. The driver continued driving and a short time later, the unoccupied vehicle was located nearby. Officers and a police K-9 searched the area for the driver who was located on Bluefin Dr. and taken into custody. No injuries were reported. While investigating, the driver was identified as the accused and determined to be intoxicated and driving without a valid driver’s license. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Denilson MEDINA, was arrested.
