On April 5 at 12:31 AM, while patrolling in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Neabsco in Woodbridge (22191), officers observed a silver Chrysler 300 driving at a high rate of speed and attempted a vehicle stop. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as the accused, disregarded the officer’s emergency equipment and continued driving at a high rate of speed and the officers disengaged the vehicle. A short time later, officers observed the vehicle in the area of Delaware Dr. and Lost Canyon Ct. where they attempted a second vehicle stop. When the accused disregarded the officer’s emergency equipment a second time, an officer, who was in the roadway, was forced to jump out of the way to avoid being struck. Officers did not pursue the vehicle a second time as they were able to identify the driver. Later that day, the suspect vehicle was located unoccupied and illegally parked in the 15000 block of Lost Canyon Ct. An inventory search of the vehicle was conducted where officers located ammunition, a firearm, suspected illegal narcotics, and a credit card belonging to the accused inside. Following the investigation, on April 5, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Khari Jakai WHEELER. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.
