On July 18 at 2:34 AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1800 block of Cedar Cove Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed two unknown individuals were observed attempting to climb onto the balcony of the residence. The homeowner confronted the individuals who quickly fled the area on foot. While checking the home, officers located damage to the garage door. No entry was made into the home and no additional property damage was reported. While investigating the incident, officers were informed two unknown individuals matching the description provided to police were seen in the area earlier that evening and were confronted by residents before fleeing on foot.
