On May 12 at 3:16 PM, officers responded to the Broadstone at River Oaks Apartments located in the 3100 block of Chesapeake Dr. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a burglary in progress. An occupant of the apartment reported to police that an unknown woman was yelling for two people while aggressively knocking on the front door. At one point, the woman tried to make contact at the bedroom window. The suspect fled prior to police arriving in the area. At no time was an entry made into the home and no property was reported missing.
