On July 11 at 12:00PM, officers responded to the Westgate Apartments located in the 8000 block of Ashland Ave. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed a resident of an apartment woke around 3:30AM to an unusual noise. While looking outside a bedroom window, an unknown man was observed holding onto the brick ledge outside the window. The resident yelled at the man who then jumped down from the window and fled the area on foot. Entry into the apartment was attempted through the window screen which was found damaged. No entry was made into the apartment. The only suspect description was a white male wearing a blue shirt and shorts.
