Attempted Residential Burglary While Armed – 15100 block of Bannon Way in Woodbridge VA

On April 1 at 11:51 AM, officers responded to the Orchard Mills Apartments located in the 15100 block of Bannon Way in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an ongoing dispute resulting in an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed that a group of individuals went to the above apartment where a verbal altercation ensued with a 35-year-old male occupant of the apartment. At one point during the encounter, the occupant observed one of the members of the group with a firearm and closed the door. Members of the group then struck and damaged the door in an attempt to gain entry into the apartment. The group fled the apartment prior to police arriving in the area. A police K-9 and helicopter assistance from Fairfax County police searched the area for the suspects who were not initially located. No entry was made into the apartment and no injuries were reported. While canvassing the area, officers located and identified some of the members of the group. During the investigation, officers determined there were previous incidents between a juvenile occupant of the apartment and a juvenile member of the group, which lead up to the attempted burglary. The investigation continues.
