Attempted Strong-Arm Robbery – Clipper Dr. and Tumbling Brook Ln. in Woodbridge VA

On March 25 at 6:31 PM, officers responded to the area of Clipper Dr. and Tumbling Brook Ln. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted robbery. The victim, a 13-year old male juvenile, reported to police that he was at the basketball courts near the above area when he was approached by a group of male juveniles. During the encounter, one of the juveniles, later identified as the accused, implied he had a weapon and demanded the victim’s phone. When the victim refused, the accused reached into the victim’s pocket and attempted to remove the phone. The accused and the rest of the group fled on foot when they were not able to get the phone. The victim left the courts and reported the incident to a family member who contacted the police. No injuries were reported. While investigating, officers identified the accused and determined no weapon was involved in the incident. Following the investigation, on April 4, the accused, identified as a 14-year-old male juvenile, was arrested.
