On June 1 at 10:38 AM, officers responded to the 12500 block of Colebrook Ct. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a found child. A resident reported to police that when they observed a 3-year-old boy playing in the street, they brought the boy to the sidewalk where he pointed at a nearby residence. When there was no answer at the home, the resident contacted the police. While investigating, officers determined there was a 4-year-old boy also inside the home with no caregiver. The investigation revealed that children were left unattended for an extended period of time. Officers eventually made contact with the parents of the children, who returned to the residence. Both children were unharmed and released to a family member. Following the investigation, both parents, identified as Richetta Veronique HAMMONDS and Isaiah James HAMMONDS, were arrested.
