On March 18 at 6:12 AM, officers responded to the Southbridge Plaza located in the 17200 block of Wayside Dr. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an alarm activation at the Skrimp Shack. Upon arriving at the business, officers observed damage to the front glass door. The investigation revealed that a suspect used a rock to shatter the front door to gain entry into the business. Once inside the business, the suspect took a cash box before fleeing. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located. While investigating the incident, officers located three neighboring businesses in the shopping center, the Wings Way, Amazing Grace Salon & Barber, and Queenly Nails, where the front glass was shattered. Video surveillance footage revealed that the suspect appeared to be the same in each incident. The investigation continues.
