On April 28 at 1:23 AM, officers responded to the Target located at 2460 Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary in progress. The store employees reported to police that while working they heard a loud noise and upon inspecting the store, they observed damage to the lobby window. A short time later, an unknown man was observed walking back through the hole in the window while carrying unpaid electronic items. The investigation revealed that the suspect used a rock to smash the window and gain entry into the store where he then smashed a glass display case and took items before fleeing. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located. While investigating, officers determined the suspect initially damaged the rear door in an unsuccessful attempt to gain entry into the store.
