On March 29 at 8:42 PM, an off-duty officer responded to the area of Lafayette Ave. and Dublin Dr. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an intoxicated driver with children in the vehicle. While in the above area, the officer observed the vehicle described to police moving very slowly down the street and stopped the vehicle. The officer made contact with the driver, identified as the accused, and determined she was intoxicated before detaining her. During the investigation, the officer observed two children, identified as a 7-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy inside the vehicle and determined the girl was not secured properly. The children were unharmed and turned over to a family member. While investigating, officers also determined that the accused was driving without a valid driver’s license. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Veronica Yamileth MAYORGA RAMOS, was arrested.
