On September 20 at 1:10 AM, officers responded to the 13300 block of Occoquan Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed the victim, a 68-year-old man, was in the wooded area near the above location when he was approached by an acquaintance. During the encounter, a verbal altercation escalated when the acquaintance struck the victim multiple times before retrieving a glass bottle and striking the victim. The parties separated and the acquaintance fled the area on foot. The victim walked to a local business where the police were contacted. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was described as a black male with long black hair twists. The investigation continues.
