On August 13, officers concluded an investigation into an assault that was reported to have occurred in the 14800 block of Build America Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) on August 5. The investigation revealed that at approximately 9:00 PM that evening, the victim, a 30-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were driving on Richmond Hwy. when a verbal altercation escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim while she was driving the vehicle. The victim quickly pulled into a parking lot in the above area where the accused exited the vehicle. While the verbal altercation continued, the accused struck the victim a second time before going to the rear of the vehicle. At that time, the victim exited the vehicle and followed the accused to the trunk where the accused removed a bag containing metal tools and struck the victim with the bag. The accused fled the area, and the victim contacted the police. The victim was treated at the scene by rescue personnel for minor injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused. On August 13, the accused, identified as, was located by officers in the Woodbridge area and arrested.
