On January 11, 2022, at 12:25PM, officers responded to investigate a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence in the Dumfries (22026) area of Prince William County on October 13, 2021. The victim, a 20-year-old woman, reported to police that early on the morning of October 13, an acquaintance, identified as the accused, was visiting when he went into the basement of the home. When the victim went to check on the accused a short time later, he grabbed the victim and pulled her onto the couch where he physically prevented her from getting up. While on the couch, the accused grabbed the victim’s throat before sexually assaulting her. Eventually the victim was able to separate from the accused and went into another room. A short time later, the accused entered the victim’s room and sexually assaulted her a second time. The parties eventually separated. The victim reported she sustained injuries during the time of the incidents. The victim eventually contacted the police prompting the investigation. Following the investigation, on April 14, 2022, the accused, identified as Samuel Isaac LINARES, was arrested.
