On July 30 at 10:40 AM, officers responded to the 16800 block of Toms River Lp. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed a group of people were in the area when a verbal altercation escalated. At one point during the altercation, gunshots were fired before the parties fled. While investigating the incident, officers located a shell casing on the street where the altercation occurred. No injuries were reported, and no property damage was located.
