On March 22 at 5:57 PM, officers responded to the area of Rippon Blvd. and Blackburn Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate shots fired call. The investigation revealed that a group of males, possibly juveniles, were at the basketball courts near the above intersection when they were approached by a group of masked individuals, also believed to be juveniles. During the encounter, a verbal altercation escalated when individuals of the masked group implied they were carrying firearms. As the initial group left on foot, they heard multiple gunshots. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located. No injuries or property damage were reported.
