On June 18 at 4:26 AM, officers responded to the Riverwoods Apartments located in the 2700 block of Dettingen Pl. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a group of individuals being loud and arguing. While responding to the scene, officers were informed a gunshot was heard in the same area. Upon arriving in the parking lot of the above area, officers located a group of people, none of whom were injured. The investigation revealed that while two women were sitting in a vehicle parked in the parking lot, an unknown man approached the vehicle where a verbal altercation ensued. At one point during the altercation, the man retrieved a firearm and fired a round into the parking lot area. The suspect fled prior to police arriving in the area. No injuries or property damage reported. Officers located a shell casing in the parking lot.
