Residential Burglary – 10000 block of Evans Ford Rd. in Manassas VA

On March 6 at 4:28 PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 10000 block of Evans Ford Rd. in Manassas (20111) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred sometime between 8:00 AM and 4:20 PM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the home through a rear garage window which was found damaged. A firearm was reported missing. While investigating the incident, officers were informed that earlier in the day there were several calls involving a suspicious person in the area. Officers observed an unknown individual, later determined to be the accused, who matched the description of the suspicious person previously provided to police. Officers detained the accused and found the suspect was in possession of a firearm matching the description of the one reported missing from the above residence. During the investigation, the accused was also found in possession of suspected illegal narcotics. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Shanice Shentel YATES, was arrested.
