On March 22, the School Resource Officer was assigned to Fred Lynn Middle School, located at 1650 Prince William Pkwy. In Woodbridge (22191), was notified by school security of an assault that was reported to have occurred on March 21. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 13- year-old female juvenile, was assaulted by an acquaintance, identified as the accused, in one of the school’s restrooms. During the encounter, the victim was pushed against a wall before being inappropriately touched by the accused. The victim was able to separate from the accused and leave the restroom. The accused then followed the victim into the hallway where a verbal altercation ensued between the accused and another student who was waiting outside the restroom. At one point, the accused struck the other student, identified as a 13-year-old male juvenile. All three students eventually separated. The incident was reported to school authorities the following day and police were notified. No injuries were reported. On March 30, following the investigation, the SRO charged the accused, identified as a 13-year-old female juvenile.
