On June 8, 2022, detectives with the Special Victims Bureau, in conjunction with Child Protective Services, concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred in the Manassas (20109) area of Prince William County between December 2015 and March 2022. The investigation began in March 2022 when the victim, who was between the ages of 6-12 during the time of the offenses, reported the incidents to police. The investigation revealed that the victim was sexually assaulted by a family member, identified as the accused, on more than one occasion during the above timeframe while the two resided in the same home. Following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Ronald Eduardo PALENCIA GARCIA, who on June 8, 2022, turned himself in to police.
