On June 6 at 10:04 PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 17600 block of Hampstead Ridge Ct. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate the destruction of property. The homeowner reported to police that suspected gunfire was heard earlier that morning between 2:00 AM and 2:30 AM. Upon checking the home later that day, a bullet hole was located in a dining room window. The investigation revealed a round entered the home through the window and traveled through the wall into the bathroom where it struck the mirror before becoming lodged in the opposite wall. No additional shooting incidents were reported during the above timeframe. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.
