On May 5 at 10:22PM, officers responded to the area of Old Triangle Rd. near Kilpatrick Pl. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shots fired call. Residents reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area. While checking the area, officers located shell casings in front of a residence on Kilpatrick Pl. and an unoccupied vehicle with damage consistent with being struck by a projectile. While canvassing in the 2400 block of Kilpatrick Pl., a residence was found with a bullet hole in their front door and damage to the shutter on the side of the door. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.
