On May 4 at 8:10AM, officers responded to investigate a destruction of property that was reported to have occurred at the Potomac Wood Senior Living Apartments located in the 1000 block of South Hampton St. in Woodbridge (22191) on May 3. A resident of an apartment reported to police that he woke to a loud noise at approximately 1:30AM. Upon inspection later that morning, the resident observed a bullet hole to his window. The resident notified the apartment manager who eventually contacted the police. While investigating, officers located a second apartment with damage consistent with being struck by projectiles. The investigation revealed that the rounds were fired from outside the apartment complex. While canvassing, officers located shell casings behind the apartments on Pine Rd. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.
