On September 3 at 9:45 PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3700 block of Wigan Dr. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. While officers were responding, they were flagged down in the area of Cagney Ct. where they located the victim, a 24-year-old man, suffering from gunshot wounds. The officers provided immediate first aid until rescue personnel arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital where his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. The investigation revealed the victim was getting into his vehicle that was parked in the above area when he was approached by three men. During the encounter, the suspects demanded the victim’s property before firing rounds, striking the victim. The suspects fled in a silver-colored sedan prior to police arriving at the location. The victim walked to a nearby residence where he was located by police. No additional injuries or property damage were located. Officers located a shell casing on the roadway in front of the residence. At this time, the incident does not appear to be random.
