On June 23 at 5:00PM, officers responded to Griffin Dr. near Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed the victim, a 24-year-old man, was parked in the above area when a group of unknown men approached his vehicle. At one point during the encounter, someone from the group brandished a firearm. After seeing the firearm, the victim attempted to drive away before striking a light post. As the victim continued to drive out of the area, several shots were fired which struck the victim’s vehicle. The men were last seen fleeing on foot. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located. The victim reported minor injuries as a result of the vehicle’s window being damaged during the shooting. No additional injuries or additional property damage were reported.
