On October 27 at 5:26 PM, officers responded to the area of Benton St. and Brandon Ct. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. Upon arriving in the area, officers did not initially locate the involved parties. Officers did locate shell casings and other evidence in the roadway and the grassy area of a nearby playground indicating an incident took place. The investigation revealed a black 4-door BMW with tinted windows was in the above area when an occupant of the vehicle began to exchange gunfire with a group of individuals who were on foot near the 3300 block of Benbow Ct. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located. While investigating the incident, officers were informed that a 14-year-old male juvenile was at an area hospital receiving treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The juvenile was not cooperative with investigators during the investigation regarding what led up to the shooting or the individuals involved. While checking the area, officers located two unoccupied vehicles that sustained damage consistent with being struck by projectiles. No additional injuries or property damage were reported.
