On July 16 at 6:00 PM, officers responded to the 12300 block of Valley View Dr. in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a suspicious person. Upon arriving in the area, officers made contact with a man matching the description provided to police who was later determined to be the accused. The investigation revealed the accused and the victim, identified as a 16-year-old female juvenile, had previously met on a social media app, and were no longer communicating. The accused traveled to the area and was following the victim for the last two days in an attempt to meet her in person. While investigating the incident, the accused was informed not to have any further contact with the victim and the parties separated. Prior to police leaving the area, the victim reported the accused attempted to contact her via a social media app after being informed not to have further contact. Following the investigation, officers obtained an arrest warrant for the accused, identified as Sean Michael MAHAR. Later that evening, the accused was located in the Manassas area and taken into custody without incident.
