On May 10 at 11:00 AM, officers responded to the Misty Ridge Apartments located in the 15000 block of Sunny Ridge Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic. The investigation revealed that the victim, an 18-year-old woman, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim before grabbing her neck. At one point, the two parties separated long enough for the victim to attempt to contact the police. The accused then physically prevented the victim from contacting the police before taking her phone. The victim was eventually able to separate from the accused and leave the apartment. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Marc Issac HICKMAN, was arrested.
