On March 16 at 8:00PM, officers responded to the 1200 block of Swan Point Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 30-year-old man, reported to police that he was walking in the above area when he was approached from the opposite direction by an acquaintance, later identified as the accused. Just after passing the victim, the accused turned and lunged at the victim causing them both to fall to the ground. While on the ground, the accused slammed the victim’s head into the ground multiple times before grabbing the victim’s neck. The two parties eventually separated, and the accused fled on foot. Rescue personnel responded and treated the victim’s injuries at the scene. While investigating, officers identified the accused as Hubert Drew AVERY II. On March 18, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.
