On September 29 at 11:47 PM, officers were on patrol in the 13900 block of Richmond Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) when they observed a 24-year-old man, the victim, suffering from injuries to his face. Rescue personnel responded and transported the victim to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation revealed the victim was at the Potomac Inn when he was approached by two unknown men. During the encounter, the victim was struck by both men which knocked him to the ground. While on the ground, the suspects took the victim’s money and phone before fleeing. The victim left the Potomac Inn and walked a short distance before encountering police. A few hours later, officers located a man who matched the description provided by the victim. The officers detained the man who was determined to be involved in the robbery. Following the investigation, the suspect, identified as Jahkeron Lorenzo LAZARE, was arrested. While searching the accused, he was found in possession of a suspected illegal controlled substance. The investigation continues as officers attempt to identify and locate the second suspect.
