On May 5 at 7:53 AM, officers responded to the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Cl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic with weapons. The victim, a 37-year-old woman, reported to police that while in the above area, she and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim while grabbing her purse and then removed her keys from the purse before getting into a vehicle waiting nearby. The victim contacted the police and the accused fled prior to police arriving at the location. No injuries were reported. While investigating, officers located the accused outside of the victim’s residence and took him into custody without incident. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Lawrence McKenzie SMITH, was arrested.
