On July 2 at 8:15 AM, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 13990 Richmond Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed an employee of the business approached a patron, later identified as the accused, who was concealing merchandise in his clothing. When the employee confronted the accused, a physical altercation ensued before the employee was struck by the accused. The accused then fled the store where he encountered police nearby and was detained after a brief foot chase and struggle. The accused was also found to be wanted on several unrelated warrants. The employee sustained minor injuries from the assault. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jahkeron Lorenzo LAZARE, was arrested.
