On October 17 at 8:25 AM, officers were flagged down in the area of Ashton Ave. and Rosemary Dr. in Manassas (20109) in reference to a strong-arm robbery that just occurred. The investigation revealed the victim, a 56-year-old woman, was walking in the above area when she was approached by an unknown man, later identified as the accused, who grabbed her purse. After a brief struggle over the purse, the accused fled on foot. The victim reported minor injuries. While investigating the incident, officers located the accused nearby and attempted to detain him. The accused then attempted to flee on foot before being quickly detained by the officers without further incident. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Augusto CASTILLO AGUILAR, was arrested.
