On May 19 at 10:42 PM, officers responded to investigate a robbery that was reported to have occurred at the Walgreens located at 14095 Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) on the evening of May 17. An employee of the business reported to police that at approximately 7:30PM, he observed a male patron inside the store concealing merchandise. The employee confronted the suspect near the door and attempted to grab the bag containing the unpaid merchandise. At that point, the suspect attempted to strike the employee causing the employee to fall to the ground and the merchandise to fall to the floor. Another patron intervened and separated the parties before the suspect fled the store. No injuries were reported. No property was reported missing.
