On May 25 at 8:00 AM, the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Woodbridge High School located at 3001 Old Bridge Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) was notified by school personnel that there was a student with a knife inside the school. The investigation revealed that three students, including the accused, were inside a bathroom when a verbal altercation escalated. During the encounter, the accused and one of the other students engaged in a physical altercation before the accused retrieved a knife from his person. At some point a struggle over the knife ensued during which the accused was stabbed. The parties eventually separated, and the students left the restroom. A teacher was notified of the incident and contacted school security and together with the SRO they located the accused in a classroom suffering from a minor stab wound. The accused was initially treated by the school nurse and later transported to an area hospital for treatment and further evaluation. While investigating, a knife was located inside the accused’s backpack and secured by the SRO. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as a 15-year-old male, was arrested.
